I was just about to settle down with The Zebra-Striped Hearse by Ross MacDonald when the brick shattered the cabin window. I ducked for cover and reached for the gun I did not have. Heart pounding. The envelope inside was addressed to me in large letters. Mr. Nick Crane, I am your friend. You and your cabin will be bombed in five minutes. You must leave right now.
